Reshaping Modernization: China and the Global South
We are glad to announce a Call for Chapters for the book ‘Reshaping Modernization: China and the Global South’.
The project follows the progress of the 12th IPP International Conference, where international scholars explore new pathways to modernization in the era of global transformation.
The edited collection seeks to answer the following questions:
What are the key factors that reshape contemporary approaches to modernization, including geopolitical, ecological, technological and demographical challenges?
How do nation states and international communities respond to the shifting world order through policy design?
How best to understand the coordination between China and Global South countries in contributing to global governance and regional development?
The editors welcome chapters addressing these pressing issues. We aim to bring together voices and insights from the north and the south. We welcome contributions from different disciplines and contexts, including those of academics and policy makers.
The book chapter proposals may address (but are not limited to) the following issues within the geopolitical context:
Global Development and Modernization in Transition
Structural Transformation of the World Economy
China and the Global South in the Era of Multipolarity
Changing Approaches to Global Governance
The Nexus of Geopolitics and Technological Innovation
History and Practice of Public Policy in the Global South
Global Social Governance and International Organizations
The Cultural Politics of Regional and Local Modernities
Transnational Social Movements and Cultural Exchanges
If you are interested in contributing to the collection, please send an article proposal to the editors: Dr. Guo Hai (guohai@scut.edu.cn) and Dr. Zhu Yanling (zhuyanling@scut.edu.cn).
